   | About Alas del COCO LOCOYour comfort is our goal! We have created a restful retreat that you can think of as your home away from home when you’re in the area. This is beachy, cottage-style living at its best! We are walking distance to just about everything you need! Renting a car is not necessary, just an option. Walk to the beaches, the Boardwalk (Malecon) with oceanfront restaurants, bars, gift shops, and rentals of snorkeling gear, kayks or jet-skis. Grocery stores and day and night activities are only a block and a half away. Alas del COCO LOCO Rooms and ApartmentsWe are conveniently located, and our rooms feature all the amenities you could need. We have a Studio, a One Bedroom Apartment; and a Two Bedroom Apartment Come experience the laid-back and charming island of Vieques! Don't forget to take the Bioluminescent Bay Tour. It's offered in the evenings, and it's a unique and "glowing" spectacle, not to be missed. Stay with us for one night, or two nights, or a week, or whatever you need! You can walk to several different beaches from Coco Loco. Right down the street, (one and a half blocks) you will find : Esperanza Bay. Swim, wade, jump off the one of the docks, or just stroll along the Malecon. There's an island about a 10 minute swim, and it has wonderful snorkeling! Or take a nice 10 minute stroll and you are at Sun Bay. This is a peaceful, long, palm tree lined beach with a group of horses that stroll around on the grassy part. The beach is very long and it's got waves at one end, and rolling waves in the middle and very tranquil water at the far end. Great swimming, or floating, or reading or hanging a hammock and resting. Two more beaches are about a 20 minute walk. You go to Sun Bay first, then keep walking for another 10 minutes and you come to Media Luna Beach. It is shallow, calm, and soooo relaxing! Clear, aqua shade of water and smooth white powdery sand. Another 10 minutes past media Luna, you come to Navio Beach. This beach has the biggest waves, really fun for body surfing or boogie boards. Also there's a cave on the left shore in about thigh deep water. It's fun to go inside, many people take a really cool photo from inside the cave. This beach is popular with the young set, but everybody's welcome! |
